Watch out for galvanic corrosion!

If you install the quick link Kong lang 12mm permanently, you must pay attention to galvanic corrosion! This means that you must not hang this stainless steel product in a zinc plated steel fixed point. This will lead to corrosion of the fixed point over time.

Please always combine zinc-plated components with other zinc-plated components such as bolt hanger. If the fixed point is made of zinc plated steel, you must use a link with the same steel quality. This is the only way to ensure long-term durability. I.e. over many years.

Problematic DIY store screw links

Unfortunately, DIY store quick links keep turning up in the climbing equipment of our drilling course participants. Watch out! These can be life-threatening. The breaking loads are often only a few hundred kilos. Consequently, these links do not meet any standards.

Only use standardized or tested products such as the quick link Kong long 12mm. They are clearly recognizable by the markings on the side. Only standardized material should be used in the above-mentioned areas.

There are many different models of quick links. The oval shape of the quick link Kong long 12mm is the classic one. But with a large opening!

It is mainly used for vertical force transmission of ropes or steel components.

For example, from a glue in bolt to an 8mm or 10mm rope. Or from the metal ring of the work at heights harness to a webbing sling or energy absorber.

The long models of the oval quick links have a large screw opening. Compared to the “short” standard models, much larger items of equipment fit in here.

Depending on the intended use, these shapes may also be more suitable:
