Kong Bergsport is an Italian brand steeped in tradition. The company is located in Monte Marenzo (LC) at the southern end of Lake Como.

The origins of the company lie in the production of steel wires for nails and chains. This eventually led to the production of carabiners.

In the 1970s, the company was a world leader in the mountain sports sector. This naturally led to corresponding growth.

In 1977, a new 30,000 m² company site was acquired at the current location. Here, the Bonaiti family built a modern production facility that is still being expanded today.

Today, the Italian manufacturer is one of the largest carabiner producers in Europe. As one of the very few, alongside Aludesign, Austrialpin, DMM and Fixe, they produce entirely on our continent.

In addition, the company has reintegrated many production areas into the company since 2009. Outsourced production steps have been successively abandoned and are once again being processed completely autonomously.

Today, climbing harnesses, all rescue equipment and all steel processing are also carried out at Lake Lecco.
