10mm vs. 12mm
From a technical point of view, a climbing anchor with 10mm expansion bolt is completely sufficient.
The setting depth, dimensions and breaking loads fulfill the EN 959 standard for solid rock. Therefore, 12 mm is only required in exceptional cases. For example, in the case of deliberate “over belaying” or increased setting depth. For example, when the rock is poor on the surface.
Ideal for climbing frame holders
If you are planning to build a climbing area, you’ve come to the right place.
This 10mm climbing anchor has the EN 959 standard throughout, making it ideal for climbing frame holders. However, you must also carry out the checks and maintenance required by law in Austria.
These are, on the one hand, the recorded annual inspection. And on the other hand, keeping a route book – maintenance book.
Theft-protected carabiner
The steel carabiner on this 10mm climbing anchor is theft-proof. This is because it is secured with a fixed splint. This means it cannot simply be removed from the abseil ring.
For refurbishments, the splint must then be bent. It cannot be opened with an Allen key.
Installing the CT Belay Station Plate correctly
Observe the two most important basic rules when installing climbing anchors.
Firstly. Never tension the chain between the plates. Always ensure that there is a little slack in the chain!
Secondly. The top flap must be slightly offset. This creates a V with an angle. This may be a maximum of 45°.
