The Camp Brenta rock hammer is a great hammer for bolting, development and big wall rats. It is also perfect for expeditions in the rock. Firstly, at 680 grams it packs a real punch. Secondly, it is superbly balanced. On the one hand, it sits comfortably in the hand. On the other hand, it has a good “pull” for its weight. Thirdly, the handle is properly rubberized. This means it absorbs shocks to the wrist very well. Fourthly, it is supplied with a super practical, stretchy catch arm and carabiner.
In short. This hammer is our TOP recommendation for all developers!

- Climbing area rebolting with expansion bolt

For alpine routes where the mallet is only intended as a back-up for emergencies, we recommend lighter models. For example, the Climbing Technology rock hammer Thunder or the Stubai Bergsport rock hammer Rocky.
Not all rock hammers are the same!
Please note when purchasing the Camp Brenta rock hammer. Not all hammers are the same. This means that the respective models sometimes have very different areas of use. The Brenta is a very good rock hammer for alpine climbing when you are setting a lot of bolts. It is also a real “workhorse” when bolting a climbing route.
If you only use your rock hammer rarely, this hammer is “too good” and too “heavy”. It is better to use a very light model.
You should therefore think carefully about what you intend to do when buying a rock hammer. It’s worth it!
With the Camp Brenta rock hammer you get a super rock hammer. It shows its strengths in alpine development, frequent bolting and big wall climbing. The slightly higher price is absolutely fine and you get a lot of hammer for your money!
