The Raumer Radius is a glue in bolt with a D-shaped carabiner eye. In contrast to the “normal” glue in bolt, this model is specially designed for axial pulling.
The hook is made of high-quality AISI 316L stainless steel. Its diameter is 10mm. The shank length is 80mm.
This model is an inexpensive alternative to the Petzl Collinox. For one thing, the glue in bolt have roughly the same dimensions. And secondly, they have exactly the same eyelet shape. Consequently, the models are directly comparable. However, the Raumer Radius is considerably cheaper.
However, there is no need to compromise on quality. The Raumer model is also EN 959 certified. In addition, the radial and axial breaking load is an impressive 30kN.
Conclusion. If you need a strong glue in bolt for high axial loads, you’ve come to the right place!

D-shaped carabiner eyelet
The most obvious feature of this glue in bolt is its D-shaped carabiner eye. The half ring gives the hook its name and function. Namely, it is ideal for holding axial loads.
On the one hand, this means the optimum carabiner position. This is because the uniform radius automatically aligns each carabiner. And secondly, it means the ideal hook shape. This is because the radius is tied in with the entire eyelet on the side of the rock. This means that the entire force is transferred to the ground and centrally to the shaft.
Raumer Radius = alternative to the Petzl Collinox
This hook is an inexpensive alternative. A comparison soon reveals that it is very similar to the Petzl equivalent. It is very similar to the Petzl equivalent in terms of shape, breaking load values and material. And at half the price.
It is therefore hardly surprising that many users are happy to accept this option. The Radius also complies with the EN 959 standard and is therefore in no way inferior to the Collinox!
