The Petzl Caritool material carabiner is a super helpful accessory. Because ice screws can be attached to the material carabiner, piton and nuts hook in.
The lightweight and durable plastic carabiner is surprisingly stable. This is because it is attached to the climbing harness with a small clip. Almost all Petzl climbing harness models already have a corresponding slot for attachment. And the carabiner also fits many other climbing harness manufacturers.

For almost all Petzl harness models
The Petzl Caritool material carabiner fits almost all Petzl harness models. This is because they all have a corresponding channel on the waistband, into which the carabiner is fixed. For this purpose, it has a small clip on the inside that holds it in position.
This means that the carabiner with the material inside is always secure and stable on the hip.
Petzl Caritool – perfect for bolting
We use the material carabiner ourselves with the Petzl Corax when bolting. The small carabiner is super practical here. Because we hang our rock hammer in it.
Thanks to the large opening and the wide radius, all standard models fit in here. So the hammer doesn’t hang around anywhere. Instead, it is always clearly arranged at the hip where the heavy hammer head cannot cause any damage.
NO PPE!
Only that this has been properly clarified. The Petzl Caritool material carabiner is not PPE. Because it has a very low breaking load of approx. 5 kg.
This means that it must never be used as a belay point. It is used exclusively for carrying climbing equipment on the hip belt.
