The Kong Resting FiFi Hook is a classic aluminum FiFi for techno climbing or fixing at the resting point. This FiFi is an extremely helpful piece of equipment. Firstly, it can be used for alpine climbing in the second ascent. This eliminates the annoying “clipping in” to the intermediate belay. Secondly, the FiFi is used for alpine climbing on lead. Here, too, you can simply clip into the belay point. And thirdly, the FiFi is of course used for techno climbing or big wall climbing.
You can also adjust the length of the cordalette on this FiFi. 7mm cordalettes can be pulled perfectly through the eyelets!
Attaching FiFi to the belt
We recommend attaching a 7mm cordalette to the Kong Resting FiFi Hook with a normal knot. Then attach the FiFi to the belay loop of the harness with a overhand knot and you’re done. Depending on the length of the sling on the FiFi, the distance to the resting point will of course vary. When climbing big walls, for example, this should be very small.
Attaching the Kong Resting FiFi Hook to the stepladder
If you attach a FiFi to your stepladder, you should do this directly with a 4mm screw link screw. This means that the screw link is hung directly between the FiFi and the loop of the stepladder and screwed shut. This way, you can always use the ladders properly and don’t lose any “valuable centimetres”.
Hanging FiFi
If possible, always try to hang your FiFi directly in a metal part. For example, directly into the bolt hanger, the glue in bolt, piton or a carabiner. If you hang the FiFi in a sling, you run the risk of it breaking off.
