Description
Our Inox bolt hanger – 3mm is currently the cheapest stainless steel hanger on the market. It is made of A2 steel (A304L). On the other hand it is made of 3mm thick steel. Consequently, the lug is very light. It weighs just 44 grams.
The variants with 8mm and 10mm bore are available.
The great price-performance ratio and the low weight make the product particularly interesting for “private” developers. If you want to set up a climbing route with expansion bolt out of your own pocket, this is the right product for you! At the request of many developers, we have the product manufactured by Vertical Evolution. This makes it possible to bolt a climbing route in good quality even on a small budget!
Inox bolt hanger – 3mm
Caution on climbing routes with a very high frequency or where there is a lot of falling. Here we recommend a bolt hanger with a thickness of at least 4 mm. These are much more stable and do not bend so easily.
As already mentioned, the bracket is particularly interesting for “private” developers. This is because it is the cheapest stainless steel latch on the market. It complies with EN standard 795 2012, but not EN standard 959. breaking load is “only” 25kN and is therefore slightly below the required limit of 27kN.
In short. With this offer you get a stainless steel product for the price of a zinc plated one!
Due to the lack of EN standard 959, the Inox bolt hanger is not suitable for climbing area construction or climbing area rebolting. Here we recommend the 4mm thick version made of AISI 316L steel. Firstly, it complies with the EN 959 standard and secondly, it has the lowest price of all our EN 959 standardized lugs. And thirdly, it is made of highly corrosion-resistant AISI 316L steel. This is the low carbon version of AISI 316 / A4 steel.

Matching expansion bolt to the Inox bolt hanger 3mm
These two expansion bolt are the right ones for the 10mm hook lug. Firstly, the 10mm Fischer expansion bolt FBN II 10/10 A4. Secondly, the 10mm Fischer expansion bolt FBN II 10/5 K A4.
The combination of stainless steel bolt hangers with zinc-plated expansion bolt must be avoided at all costs! Because this creates galvanic corrosion. Not familiar with this yet? Then read our lead article “Galvanic corrosion at expansion bolt” to expand your knowledge.
Not suitable for bolting near the sea!
The INOX bolt hanger is not suitable for bolting near the sea. A2 steel / AISI 304L steel does not meet the required corrosion class. In order to withstand the extreme chemical conditions in the medium to long term, products made of duplex steel are required as a minimum.
