The abseil anchor with 2 rings is our most popular stand for abseiling slopes. It is mounted with 10mm expansion bolt mounted. The popularity of the climbing anchor is easily explained.
Firstly, it has two rings and allows the ropes to be pulled off easily. Secondly, it has a very competitive price. Thirdly, an ideal weight for alpine routes.
Fourthly, it impresses with its AISI 316L steel quality. This makes the climbing anchor with 2 rings extremely durable.
It can be installed anywhere in the Alps. So you can’t go wrong with the lower off from Vertical Evolution!
Features abseil anchor with 2 rings Vertical Evolution
- EN standard 795
- Material: AISI 316L steel
- Breaking loads: 25kN radial and 22kn axial
- expansion bolt: 10mm bore
- Length: approx. 27cm
- Weight: 330 gram
- Rings: 10mm thickness and 32mm inner diameter
The climbing anchor with 2 rings must be connected “in series”. This means that the two fixed points are only slightly offset horizontally. Vertically, however, they are strongly offset without fully tensioning the chain. Ensure the correct spacing of the expansion bolt of at least 3 x the anchoring depth (tear-out cone expansion bolt!).
Use the appropriate expansion bolt
The abseil anchor with 2 rings from Vertical Evolution is made of AISI 316L steel. Consequently, 10mm expansion bolt A4 steel (AISI 316 / 316L) must be used to install the stand. This avoids galvanic corrosion at expansion bolt. This occurs when fixing to zinc plated expansion bolt. This must be avoided at all costs.
We recommend the expansion bolt Fischer heavy-duty anchor FBN II 10/10 A4 or FAZ II bolt anchor A4 steel

Observe borehole cleaning
The drilling holes for the abseil anchor with 2 rings should be cleaned appropriately. Firstly, use a drilling hole blow out pumb to do this. This will remove the drilling dust. Then clean the hole at least once with a hole brush. This also removes the material from the drill hole wall. These two simple steps prevent the expansion bolt from “wandering”. Consequently, the bolt hanger of the climbing anchor with 2 rings cannot become loose and twist.
