Stand refurbishment kit with abseil ring

This stand renovation kit with abseil ring consists of non-standardized components with a breaking load of at least 14 kN / 1,400 kg each. This means it is perfectly suited for “private” belay station refurbishment. For liability reasons, we strongly recommend that climbing garden owners only use “standardized” kits.

The kit consists of the following four parts. Firstly, a 20cm long round steel chain long link made of AISI 316 / A4 steel. Secondly, two pieces of 8mm quick links made of A2 / AISI 304 steel. Thirdly, an A4 steel / AISI 316 10mm ring with 32mm inner diameter.

Consequently, this kit fits perfectly with all standard lower off climbing anchors made from this steel quality. With a length of 33cm, we take into account the tear-out cone for up to 11cm long expansion bolt. We calculate: 20cm chain plus two x 6.5cm quick link = 33cm.

Stand renovation

This stand renovation kit with abseil ring makes stand renovation a breeze. You don’t have to remove the old bolt hanger or glue in bolt. This saves an enormous amount of time! Simply hang the chain between the fixed points without tension using the two matching quick links.

Avoid galvanic corrosion

This stand renovation kit with abseil ring is made of AISI 316 or AISI 304 steel. I.e. stainless steel. It is therefore intended for use with A4 steel / AISI 316 glue in bolt or bolt hanger. With zinc plated components it unfortunately results in galvanic corrosion (contact corrosion).

This is because combining precious and non-precious components causes this undesirable type of “rusting”.

Correctly store the stand renovation kit with abseil ring

Store these components dry and separate from other steel parts. In addition, make sure to include information that the chain is made of A4 steel. This is the only way to know which steel quality can be used for a long time afterwards.
