The Climbing Technology Gym Steel is a zinc plated steel carabiner with splint for fixed quickdraws. This model is made of hardened steel.

As a result, the carabiner is perfect for permanent outdoor and indoor use. It also has a removable splint as anti-theft protection or for attaching webbing slings or steel chains.

Steel carabiner with splint – ideal deflection carabiner

The Climbing Technology Gym Steel is also ideal as a deflection carabiner. This is because it is made of hardened, zinc-plated steel. It can also be safely installed in any ring with the splint (theft) protection.

Compared to normal aluminum climbing carabiners, this product is much more abrasion-resistant. The only thing to watch out for is the steel quality of the belay. This steel carabiner should not be hung in a stainless steel belay station. This produces galvanic corrosion.

The answer is quite simple. This steel carabiner with splint complements our range with its classic D-shape and wide apex.

In other words, it has a shape that firstly allows you to clip in more carabiners than the others. Secondly, we find this model extremely comfortable to clip. This makes a big difference with lower offs or fixed quickdraws, for example.
