Our Bühler bolt is made by the Italian manufacturer Vertical Evolution. Another common name for the product is simply “glue in bolt”. Its dimensions are 8 x 80mm. It is made of highly corrosion-resistant AISI 316L stainless steel. Moreover, it is made even more durable with the special “Longlife” surface treatment. In short: it’s no wonder that the inexpensive 8mm glue in bolt is our absolute top seller.
Lightweight and efficient
The processing of our Bühler bolt is very efficient due to its dimensions. Firstly, at just 73 grams, it is the lightest in our range. glue in bolt in our range. Secondly, the drilling hole only needs to be 10 mm wide. Thirdly, the drilling depth is only 90mm. All these features make this hook very popular and it is by far our top seller.
The low weight also makes the hook very interesting for alpine developments and renovations!
Bühler bolt and Rapid links
A screw link / quick link is often attached to the pitons. Especially when they are used as lower off / abseil anchors. To avoid galvanic corrosion, only use links made of A4 steel / AISI 316(L).

Process the Bühler bolt correctly
If you want to bolt a climbing route with a bolt, you should proceed carefully. This is because setting up a climbing route with glue in bolt harbors several potential sources of error.
Start with a high-quality SDS drill bit to obtain a round drilling hole. For example, the Fischer Quattric or Pointer Plus. This is the only way to achieve an even contact with the injection mortar.
Secondly, the borehole cleaning process is extremely precise. Firstly, the drilling dust with the drilling hole blow out pumb blown out. Secondly, two more cleaning passes with the hole brush or Fischer brush. Thirdly, blow out again and that’s it!
A 10 mm drilling hole is sufficient for the Bühler bolt. Provided you use a press-out mortar. If you use the Fischer RM 10 glass mortar cartridge with coarse sand, you need a 12mm drilling hole!
Countersink and glue the carabiner eyelet!
One of the most common errors when processing the hook is the following: the carabiner eye of the Bühler bolt is not countersunk or not glued. Hence our advice. Firstly, drill out a small channel from drilling hole vertically downwards. Clean this. After inserting the hook, spread the adhesive that oozes out properly. This protects the hook much better, especially against radial forces!
