This stainless steel deflection carabiner is a high-quality steel carabiner from Climbing Technology. It is made from A2 stainless steel and is therefore extremely abrasion and corrosion resistant. It can also be attached in a theft-proof manner using splint.
The steel carabiner is equipped with a screw cap. This means it can be closed securely. In addition, its 19 mm opening is relatively large. This means that the rope can be attached very easily.
As a result, it is the perfect carabiner for climbing anchors in high-frequency climbing areas or climbing gyms.

A2 stainless steel
This stainless steel deflection carabiner is made from A2 steel. This means that it has a high chromium content which provides very good corrosion protection on the outer layer. This steel is also very hard.
Consequently, the carabiner has all the desirable properties you would want for a lower off. On the one hand, extreme abrasion resistance. And secondly, it is extremely durable as it does not rust.
Stainless steel deflection carabiner – assembly
This carabiner is supplied with a so-called “splint”. This is a spike that you have to hammer in yourself. The carabiner is usually fixed in a ring or a screw link on the stand. This makes it theft-proof!
When installing, make sure that your stand or screw link is also made of stainless steel. This is because galvanic corrosion occurs on zinc-plated components.
Not familiar with this? Then read our article“Galvanic corrosion at expansion bolt“.
You can also attend one of our bolting.eu Academy courses, where we teach you everything you need to know about bolting.
If you have a zinc-plated stand or zinc-plated component, then you need the D-Shape Steel carabiner.
Replacement deflection carabiner stainless steel
At some point, almost every karabiner reaches the end of its useful life. This steel carabiner is no exception. We recommend replacing the carabiner when it has worn down to approx. 20% of its diameter.
