The Kong Wide Eye bolt hanger is an extremely light hanger. It weighs just 44 grams (12mm) or 46 grams (10mm). It is therefore a very good option for alpine development.
In addition, the very large eyelet makes it ideal for many work at heights.
This model is available in several variations. On the one hand in AISI 316L stainless steel with 10mm and 12mm bore. And also in a cheaper AISI 304L stainless steel version with a 10mm hole. This gives you a perfect choice depending on the intended use.

Wide eye = large carabiner eyelet
The Kong Wide Eye bolt hanger gets its name from the large carabiner eye. This is because it is particularly large. This means you can fit the following gear in here.
- three small carabiners
- two large carabiners plus rope
- 10mm Rapid link, carabiner and rope
AISI 316l or AISI 304L
This wide eye strap is available in two steel qualities.
Firstly in high-quality AISI 316L. This quality is perfect for equipping alpine routes in the Alps, for example. And secondly in AISI 304L. This is recommended, for example, for rock clearing work where the expansion bolt gets stuck and you have to remount the lanyard every time.
The choice gives you more flexibility in terms of the cost of your gear. Because not every use requires the highest quality of steel.
