The lower off with ring zinc plated is one of our absolute top sellers. Firstly, the abseil anchor zinc plated complies with the EN 795 standard for anchorage devices. Secondly, it has a very competitive price. Thirdly, an ideal weight if the approach takes a long time.
Fourthly, there are bolt hangerchain links and the abseil ring are made of zinc plated steel. This makes the abseil anchor zinc plated with ring relatively durable. Anyone who regularly installs it as a temporary fixed point will enjoy it for years to come.
For permanent outdoor installation, it has a shorter service life than stainless steel products. Consequently, the abseil anchor is ideal for small bolting budgets and temporary installation.

Switch in series!
The abseil anchor zinc plated with ring must be connected “in series”. This means that the two fixed points are only slightly offset horizontally. Vertically, however, they are strongly offset without fully tensioning the chain. Ensure that the expansion bolt is correctly spaced at least 3 x the anchoring depth (tear-out cone expansion bolt!).
Matching expansion bolt – lower off with ring zinc plated
The lower off with ring zinc plated from Vertical Evolution is made of AISI 316L steel. Consequently, for the installation of the stand you must use 10mm expansion bolt of zinc plated steel. This avoids galvanic corrosion at expansion bolt. This occurs when fixing to stainless steel expansion bolt A2 / A4 steel or AISI 304 / AISI 316). This must be avoided at all costs.
We recommend the expansion bolt from Fischer Befestigungstechnik: the Fischer heavy-duty anchor FBN II 10/10.

Zinc plated materials
The service life of the lower off with ring zinc plated is relatively short. If you want to bolt a climbing route, please take this into account. This is because the necessary renovations will have a negative impact on the rock. For example, visually due to the many bolts that have been hammered in. On the other hand, the respective fixed point also costs more in total. This is because from the 1st climbing area rebolting at the latest, the overall effort is more expensive than a stainless steel product installed in the same way. We do not allow ourselves to make ethical judgments about what is good and bad. From a technical point of view, however, stainless steel products are clearly preferable if you want to set up a climbing route with expansion bolt .
Observe borehole cleaning
The drilling holes for the lower off with ring zinc plated should be cleaned appropriately. Firstly, use a drilling hole blow out pumb to do this. This will remove the drilling dust. Then clean the hole at least once with a hole brush. This also removes the material from the borehole wall. These two simple steps prevent the expansion bolt from “wandering”. Consequently, the bolt hanger of the abseil anchor zinc plated with ring cannot become loose and twist.
