Raumer Speleo bolt hanger Wing – AISI 316L

The Raumer Speleo bolt hanger Wing is one of the top sellers in our online store. It is particularly popular with cavers. There is of course a reason for this. Firstly, the lanyard is made of highly corrosion-resistant AISI 316L steel. Secondly, the bolt hanger is available with 8mm, 10mm and 12mm holes. Speleologists almost exclusively buy the 8mm version. Thirdly, the price is totally ok. In short: a super bolt hanger for caving.

The strap is not ideal for climbing. This is because the attached carabiner is at a 90° angle away from the wall. As a result, the lug may really only be suitable as an abseil point.

Raumer Speleo bolt hanger Wing – Speleologist bestseller

This bolt hanger is particularly popular with cavers. We sell about 50% 8mm and 50% 10mm models. The 8mm version is naturally smaller expansion bolt. Smaller expansion bolt means less expense on the one hand. And on the other hand, less battery consumption.

It should be noted here that the 8mm Raumer bolt hanger Wing does not meet any EN standard. However, Raumer has a breaking load of 27kN radial / 20kn axial. This means that the product can withstand far more than the maximum forces occurring in speleology. Consequently, the Wing strap can be classified as absolutely safe.

The 10mm and 12mm versions have an EN 959 and EN 795 standard respectively!

Speleologists usually fix an 8mm screw link- quick link in the tab.

Avoid galvanic corrosion

Only A4 steel quick links may be screwed into the Raumer Speleo bolt hanger Wing. Zinc plated screw links lead to galvanic corrosion of the base metal. Therefore, make sure you use the correct steel quality when fitting the links.
