Stand renovation kit standardized

This standardized belay station renovation kit consists exclusively of standardized components. In other words, it is perfect for stand renovation in climbing areas. It consists of the following three parts. Firstly, a 15cm long stainless steel round steel chain made of AISI 316 / A4 steel. Secondly, two pieces of 8mm Kong quick links made of A2 steel with EN 12275 / EN 362 standard.

Consequently, this kit fits perfectly with all standard lower off climbing anchors made from this steel quality. With a length of 33cm, we take into account the tear-out cone for 9cm long expansion bolt. We calculate: 15cm chain + 2 x 7.5cm quick link = 30cm

Stand renovation

With this standardized stand renovation kit, stand renovation is a breeze. You don’t have to remove the old bolt hanger or glue in bolt. This saves an enormous amount of time! Simply hang the chain between the fixed points without tension using the two matching quick links.

Avoid galvanic corrosion

This standardized stand renovation kit is made of AISI 316 steel. I.e. A4 steel. It is therefore intended for use with A4 steel / AISI 316 glue in bolt or bolt hanger. With zinc plated components it unfortunately results in galvanic corrosion (contact corrosion).

This is because combining precious and non-precious components causes this undesirable type of “rusting”.

Stand renovation kit standardized correct storage

Store these components dry and separate from other steel parts. In addition, make sure to include information that the chain is made of A4 steel. This is the only way to know which steel quality can be used for a long time afterwards.
