bolting.eu cooperates with the company Art Rock as part of a great partnership. That’s why you’ll only find bolts and material on the subject of “fastening climbing holds” and “installing climbing holds” here.
The handles themselves are available in the Art Rock webshop.
Because where the professional services of climbing wall builders and hold manufacturers end – with artificial climbing facilities – the services of bolting,eu begin. Namely all types of fastenings and outdoor climbing facilities.
Attaching climbing holds
Here you will find everything you need to install climbing holds yourself. I.e. on the one hand for mounting in concrete or rock. Such as concrete anchors, internally threaded anchors and anchor sleeves.
And secondly on your boulder wall. Such as drive-in nuts or flange nuts. As well as climbing holds screws a.k.a. “cylinder head screws”.
Of course, we also offer the right Allen screws for M10 and M8 threads. Our special Allen keys are perfect for mounting climbing holds. On the one hand, they are super ergonomic. And on the other hand, they have two Allen keys on one wrench. A long one to fit into deep screw holes in slopers and jug. And a short one for tightening small crimps and steps properly.
Fastening climbing holds – correct screw length
Please note. Each fastening type requires a different screw length.
Firstly, the climbing wall panels, such as on your bouldering wall at home. Here, the screws must be long enough to pass through the entire thread.
Secondly, for concrete dowels. Here, the screws must not reach to the end of the internal thread. In other words, please calculate the length so that they only reach a maximum of 1 cm before the end of the thread.
Thirdly, for internally threaded anchors, e.g. for installation in cavity bricks. Here, the screws can be screwed up to 7 cm into the thread.
Observe torque!
If you want to attach climbing holds or mount climbing holds, you should know this. There is an ideal force with which you should tighten the holds or footholds, depending on the screws and hold size.
Therefore, never “slam” the screws wildly. Instead, tighten them carefully and with feeling. The ideal values for mounting climbing holds with M10 screws are:
small handles or steps: max 25Nm
Large handles or steps: max. 30 Nm
Mounting climbing holds on the rock
One thing first. We do not want everyone to systematically attach artificial climbing holds to climbing rocks! Our instructions are intended for the garden and playgrounds, for example.
And secondly, for designated practice areas or children’s climbing sectors where climbing is not possible due to a lack of structures.
Attaching climbing holds to concrete wall
With our concrete dowels, you can easily install climbing holds in solid concrete walls. This makes it easy to create climbing opportunities for children on such walls.
On the one hand, this makes sensible use of the otherwise empty concrete surface. And secondly, it provides children with an interesting range of exercise options.
