The Petzl Coeur Pulse is a removable 12mm expansion bolt. Its dimensions and retention forces are designed for high loads. For example, for work at heights, load transportation or rescue operations.

The Petzl removable Bolt is made of high-quality stainless steel. It can also be installed without tools. All you need is a 12mm SDS drill bit and a hole brush or blow out pumb.
The principle of the Petzl Coeur Pulse is simple and ingenious. There is a movable shaft around a rigid core. The cone is attached to the end of the core. And at the end of the shaft are the expansion elements. The movable shaft and locking system allow the expansion bolt to be fixed in the clamping position.
As a removable expansion bolt it is simply taken out by hand after use. All that remains is the empty drilling hole. Ingenious!

Removable expansion bolt Petzl – Installation
The following video shows you how to install the Petzl Coeur Pulse correctly.
Pay particular attention to the four explicit safety instructions. Firstly, the substrate must be compact enough. Secondly, you must use a four-edged drill bit. Thirdly, you must drill at exactly 90° to the rock or concrete surface. And fourthly, you must check the safety indicator on the Petzl Removable Bolt.
Petzl Coeur Pulse = EN 795 standard
A removable expansion bolt with EN 795 standard? Generations of work at heights have been looking forward to this for many, many years. Because anyone working according to the IRATA standard, for example, may only use anchor points with this standard for PPE.
This standard explains – in addition to the function of the product itself – the great popularity of the Petzl Removable Bolt.
Check safety indicator
Please note! Before using the Petzl Coeur Pulse, you must check the safety indicator. This is the small orange disk directly behind the black locking mechanism.
There must be some space between the orange disk and the silver ring on the tab! If the orange disk is directly against the silver ring, your drilling hole is too big!

Option for developers?
Developers are not necessarily happy with the large diameter of the Petzl Coeur Pulse. This is because 12 mm requires a lot of battery power and the remaining hole is relatively large.
That’s why those who bolting a route from below prefer to use the Petzl Pulse with 8mm diameter. It simply makes more sense as an “auxiliary bolt” when bolting!
