The Bühler hook 12mm from bolting.eu is a high-quality glue in bolt. It is particularly robustly built with the aim of achieving an extremely long service life.
Firstly, it is made of double passivated AISI 316L stainless steel or A4 steel (German designation). This means that the stainless steel with high corrosion resistance is also immersed twice in an acid bath. This results in an extra thick anti-corrosion layer.
Secondly, the Bühler hook 12mm is weld-free. This means that it consists purely of bent, 8mm thick round steel. After bending, this results in a solid 12mm shank, for which a 14mm drilling hole is required.
Thirdly, weld-free processing means that there are no extra areas of attack for stress corrosion cracking.
This makes this glue in bolt a veritable option for bolting near the sea.

Bühler hooks 12mm – bulk orders
We already supply large climbing organizations such as IG Klettern Sauerland or Saar-Hunsrück with our glue in bolt. If you would like to order larger quantities of hooks, we will be happy to make you an attractive B2B offer.
We are also happy to manufacture special models with custom lengths or ring(s).
We are an extremely flexible company and can fulfill your every wish!

Double passivation = standard
As with all glue in bolt hooks, double passivation is our standard for the Bühler 12mm hook.
This means that you get the highest possible corrosion protection for AISI 316L / A4 steel at no extra charge. Other manufacturers call this the “marine line” and charge approx. 30% more for it.
With us, the two additional acid baths that result in an extra thick anti-corrosion layer are free of charge.
Bühler hooks 12mm – correct processing
One of the most common processing errors at glue in bolt is omitting the vertical channel for the eyelet.
However, the additional channel is extremely important. This is because it prevents the hook from twisting radially. As a result, the pressure is transferred to the rock much more evenly.
And secondly, there is no increased material bending at the same point.
You can find out how to process the glue in bolt correctly in our How To article on the bolting blog: glue in bolt setzen
Bühler hook 12mm = weld-free
Weld-free glue in bolt have a major advantage. This is because they do not provide an extra attack surface for stress corrosion cracking!
This is relevant if there are chemical influences from outside. For example:
- Salts from the rock (sulphur, magnesium,…)
- Sodium chloride from seawater (also blown in by air!)
- Industry Exhaust gases
For this reason, double-passivated and sweat-free glue in bolt can often be found near the sea.
Conversely, this means for the Alpine region. This bolt is extremely durable. It is probably the highest quality option for equipping a route in A4 steel!
Veritable option for proximity to the sea
The Bühler 12mm hook is a veritable option for bolting near the sea. Because it simply has an unbeatable price-performance ratio.
Of course, the UIAA only recommends titanium or HCR steel (AISI 904L). But the reality is different. Those responsible in areas such as Kalymnos, Leonidio, Dalmatia, etc. clearly prefer the double-passivated fixed points to the much more expensive options.
So if you are planning to drill something near the sea, use the same quality of steel as the locals in these areas!
