The Raumer Masterfix glue in bolt is a glue in bolt for the “Heavy duty” use. It is very suitable for all terrains and applications. Firstly, it is made of corrosion-resistant AISI 316L steel. Secondly, it is available in several lengths. Thirdly, with a diameter of 12 mm, it is designed for extreme loads (assuming a solid rock base!) such as:
- Flying Fox courses
- Slacklining
- Load transportation
- Mountain rescue training stands
- End anchor short via ferrata or rope railing
The manufacturer is Raumer Climbing in Italy.

Countersink and glue the carabiner eyelet!
One of the most common mistakes when using the Raumer Masterfix glue in bolt is the following: the carabiner eye of the hook is not countersunk or not glued. Hence our advice. Firstly, drill out a small channel from drilling hole vertically downwards. Clean this. After inserting the hook, spread the adhesive that oozes out properly. This protects the hook much better, especially against radial forces!
Borehole cleaning Raumer Masterfix glue in bolt
If you want to bolt a climbing route with a bolt, you should proceed carefully. This is because setting up a climbing route with glue in bolt harbors several potential sources of error.
Firstly, start with a high-quality SDS drill bit to obtain a round drilling hole. For example, the Fischer Quattric or Pointer Plus. This is the only way to achieve an even contact with the injection mortar.
Secondly, the borehole cleaning process is extremely precise. Firstly, the drilling dust with the drilling hole blow out pumb blown out. Secondly, two more cleaning passes with the hole brush or Fischer brush. Thirdly, blow out again and that’s it!
Galvanic corrosion
Galvanic corrosion can also occur with the Raumer Masterfix glue in bolt. Therefore, never use a zinc plated screw link – quick link. As this is a “poorer” metal, it will inevitably break down over time. If a quick link is to be permanently installed, it must be made of A4 steel.
Bolting near the sea
The Raumer Masterfix glue in bolt cannot be used near the sea. For this we clearly recommend the products from Fixe Climbing. Because the Fixe PLX – Duplex steel products are made of the right steel.
We also stock products made of HCR steel from Climbing Technology and titanium from Vertical Evolution.
