SURFACE TREATMENT = Longlife

Like all Vertical Evolution products, this glue in bolt heavy duty has the high-quality SURFACE TREATMENT. This is a double passivation. In simple terms, this means two acid baths so that an extra thick anti-oxidation layer forms on the outer layer.

At Raumer, for example, this finish is called “Marine Treatment” and costs about 30% extra. Other manufacturers do not offer this treatment as standard. We supply this “Longlife” feature as standard at an attractive standard price or at a low surcharge!

Did you know that a weld seam can be a “weak point”? Because if not done properly, corrosion can start here. Air can become trapped, metal contamination can occur, etc…

This is why products made from bent steel wire are the highest quality solution. This is because only a small welding point is set here so that the hook no longer opens after pressing. The spot itself has no effect on the holding force.

As a result – compared to welded hooks – corrosion cannot start anywhere. In particular, stress corrosion cracking near the sea, as explained in the UIAA report 2020, is prevented.

12mm steel wire = 13 x 22mm shaft = 24mm drilling hole

Nevertheless, we recommend always drilling out the channel for the eyelet on the side of the rock when settingglue in bolt . The eyelet can then be additionally glued here. This is the perfect way to counteract axial twisting.

However, the large oval shaft comes with a disadvantage. A 24mm drilling hole must be drilled. Consequently, the installation takes longer. Secondly, more battery is needed. And thirdly, you need more injection mortar.

In short. This is a product for anyone who doesn’t want to miss out on the sustainable attachment of very heavy loads.

This hook is available in two lengths at bolting.eu. This means you always have the right product to choose from, depending on rock quality or rock type.

100mm length

This standard length is perfect for all very solid rock types. Such as granite, slate or compact limestone.

150mm length

This length is intended for very soft rock or holey conglomerate. This is because the mixture of radial and axial force should be perfectly distributed by the long shaft. This prevents the rock from breaking or even tearing out, even in sandstone, for example.
