As a result, the Catalan company’s range is very hardware-heavy. In our range, it perfectly complements the categories Copperheads, piton, nut tool and Big Wall accessories.
Production in Europe is also a great side effect. This means we don’t have to import special products such as skyhooks, beaks or lead heads. They are all manufactured in Spain.
Company that knows what’s going on!
At Kop de Gas you know exactly what’s going on. In other words, what gear you need for big wall and techno climbing.
Because the company owner Dani Brugarolas is himself on the big walls. And that’s where we got to know him. Namely at El Cap in Yosemite.
As a result, Dani can respond to the needs of climbers with his products like few other manufacturers. He knows how to use piton, hooks and heads. This makes it easier for him to deal with the many small product details in production.

Made in Spain
We like the fact that many of the products in the range are made in Spain. Like the Leeper Cam Hooks, for example. Until now, we had to order these from the USA.
Because value creation in Europe is important to us. It also means short delivery routes. Compared to imports from China or Taiwan.
Kop de Gas is also a small company run by climbers for climbers. Just like us 🙂
This is particularly evident in the Big Wall bags. These are all sewn in Spain. In the workshop in Barcelona!
All products are still manufactured in Spain. This gives added value in the EU and control over the entire supply chain!

Copperheads and lead heads
We can finally source these products from Europe. No more complicated import a from the USA with an extremely long delivery route.
Dani manufactures the heads himself in the workshop in Barcelona. This means they have an overview of the entire supply chain. This guarantees that everything simply fits!
On the one hand, this concerns the pressing of the steel wire. These are super neat. They are also always tested.
And secondly, the choice of material. The lead heads are always super soft. The regular heads are properly medium-hard. Just perfect for granite.
piton
Kop de Gas knows the needs of techno climbers.
That’s why they also produce models that no one else wants to make. Such as beaks, hardened piton and special mini models.
We also like the fact that there are signal colors. This makes it easier to find the hooks later. And you can also recognize them immediately at rack.
The “Shark” model shows how well they know their way around in practice. The hooks with the “teeth” have extra high pull-out resistance.

We love the special nut tool from Kop de Gaz.
For example, they have a model especially for friends. This allows the “triggers” to be donned perfectly and the cams to be “fanned out”.
Then there are also the models for tightening expansion bolt. This means that they have M10 and M8 sockets. The small bend at the end of the shaft makes them extremely practical to use.
